These are a couple pictures from the Brocato family. This was a super sweet family that had Christmas pictures with me scheduled and the poor babies got sick! A couple months later we tried again and even though there was still snow on the ground we got it in for them!! This was such a sweet family and I loved all the horses!!

This was the sweetest couple! They are expecting their first baby soon so they had me out to the house to take some maternity photos for the mommy-to-be. We picked various places around their home and I loved the nursery! This couple was so excited about their new little one that will be here soon...you could tell they are going to be great parents!

My Aunt Kim is quite possibly the most creative person I know! She is always doing something funky and new around her house and she had me come over to capture some of her stuff before all the Christmas stuff was put up! She was playing around with some displays and jewelry. She is always having some sort of party! I am just dabbling in "location" and "commercial" photography so this was great experience for me!

You would recognize the mommy and daddy of this little one...but this is your first time to meet baby Michael. Michael is the new addition to the Tonahill family! I was the photographer last year for his mommy and daddy when they got married! I was so glad when I heard from them and they said that they were booking my Baby Bundle Plan! Baby Aiden's 4 mo Session

Baby Aiden's parents booked my Baby Bundle Plan package. This is a package that is designed for new parents to use throughout their little one's first year of life! You get a newborn, 3 mo, 6 mo, 9 mo and 1 year photo session. You get a full album at the end of your first year, and I have found that booking this package really makes parents be sure to capture all these important times in their babies first year!

Baby Aiden is the precious little boy of a coworker of mine. It was great getting to meet all of his family! I brought a lot of props and tried a lot of new stuff during this session. That is always fun to me. And boy was this boy a cutie!

She had been wanting to get family pictures done for a long time now and all the kids agreed to get together and take some for her as a Christmas gift! Brody's 1st Birthday

My first session for Brody was when he was in his mommy's belly. So it was only natural that I be there on his very 1st Birthday!!

Brody's mommy was my very first maternity session and I immediately loved her and have really enjoyed getting to know her since! Christmas Sessions on the Square

I was so thankful to have so many Christmas Mini Sessions this year!! I have Mini Sessions the first weekend in December every year; and it is a great way to have a quick session that isn't too expensive for my clients, and can be used for seasonal photos and as Christmas Cards. These Mini Sessions are a hit!
This year I had all of my spots full except for 1! I had a lot of return clients which I LOVE...then I got to meet a lot of new folks! I am putting a photo from each session to show off all the fun we had!

Halloween Mini Sessions were a great success! :) I did them all day on Sunday in 15 minute increments! I had a set up of hay, pumpkins, mums & more; and also got a lot of everyone just playing in a bail of loosened hay! They were fun! This was a super casual and quick session so it is the ONE time that I am giving out CDs with pictures on them!! I thought since it was more of a fun session and a lot of the children would be wearing costumes, it would be okay just this once! :) Mommies - you will be happy to know that I also extended the amount of pictures that you will get! 10 was impossible for me to narrow down...I believe you all have at least 20...some more than that!

This was my last session today and I realized during, that I had photographed NO children all day! That is really weird for me! All adult sessions today! I love baby and family pictures...they are my absolute favorites; but I have to admit, I wasn't quite as tired when I got through today! Ha!

This is Leah & Dave...they won one of my drawings at the rainy day Collierville Fair on the Square. This couple was so easy to work with and so much fun! They were up for anything! They would do whatever I wanted...jump up here, sit down there...they were awesome! It made for some great and unique pictures! I had a hard time choosing! I can't wait to show them the rest!!

This is another family that I love!! Lately I have been able to photograph a lot of families that I know, which is so much fun!! These 3 boys are so cute I could hardly stand not hugging on them the whole time! Their sweet mommy and I used to play bunco together, and when she found out I had an opening at 11:00 at The Grotto she jumped on it! All the boys were sweet and played and had so much fun....we took a good bit of all three boys but focused on Cort the most, since she needed photos done of him. He was such a happy baby...loved this session!

This family is very close to me. This beautiful little girl has a Gigi (grandma) that was my dance teacher for 15 years! Now that I get to photograph her granddaghter, I get to see all the family a lot more...which I love!

I really love this family! I have photographed them many many times with the first time being when Gabe was 2 years old, then again right after his brother was born. Little William is now 15 months. I love getting to watch my clients as they grow!

This was a real laid back session in their Yaya's back yard. Mommy is always so relaxed and laid back, and it really helps for a good session! I should have gotten these on here a week ago! Sorry you had to wait so long Rebekah!!

Addie's 6 month Session

I told Addie's mom and dad this after their session but I know they didn't believe me....they probably think I always say this: This was one of my very favorite sessions!!! I fell in LOVE with little Addie! She was so dainty and cute, and so, so happy! We got all kinds of family pictures and pictures of her by herself. The tutu pictures turned out PERFECT! I couldn't wait to post these and I'm glad that I am finally getting a chance to! Enjoy!

Something New!!

I have just added a new Package within my business for those new moms that are (like me) wanting to catch everything! I love mommies like you out there! I have had a couple mommies-to-be recently ask me about a Baby's First Year Package and I had not yet designed one of these. Well I did it last week and finally today got it posted on my site! It is a package where you pay a one-time fee and your child is documented from birth through their first year with photos!! What an awesome idea, right? Battle on the Bluff

I am so late posting these pictures! I went to Battle on the Bluff at Sam's Town a couple weeks ago. My uncle is a bodybuilder, he's 60 years old and he looks AWESOME!! He has only been doing this about a year and he came in 3rd place in his division!! He was in this competition last year and gained 12 lbs of muscle before the competition this year! I love doing photos for past clients. They are so much fun because you get to see these sweet mommas again and you get to see how much the little ones have grown! I took pictures of Zoey (last picture) when she was about 6 mos old. It was so great seeing she and her mommy again and I was even getting Zoey kisses before they left! Today, Zoey brought her aunt and 2 cousins Haley and Hannah with them! They were just as cute! And you could tell that Haley was such a good big sister!

Little Brody

Hands down, one of my favorite sessions of all time. Let me tell you a little bit about this little boy's momma...she is adorable, she is so calm and laid back, and she is such a cool mom! This was my second session with she and her husband Harold, but the first with little Brody. The last session I did for this momma was when she was pregnant with this precious little boy! For this session, I went to their home to take these and she immediately said that she wanted some naked photos (which I love) and was 100% on board when my assistant suggested on his bare belly in the clover. These are some of my favorite group of photos ever! Props to such a cool momma!!

Gabriella was the sweetest and most beautiful girl! This day was the day of her first communion. And when I say that her family loves her....just know that I mean it! I met Gabriella, her sister and her mom at The Grotto and all of a sudden I turned around and there were probably 25 family members there!! They were all so excited and proud of her. In these pictures I think she looks almost angelic!

Okay, Okay, Okay....I am going to get caught up! I have TONS of sessions to blog about and I'm excited for you to see a sneak peek of them! I have met some of the sweetest people and had some of my favorite sessions yet! They are NEXT! :)

I have a new way that I am going to start doing my blogging. It is going to be the FIRST thing that I do! After every session I am going to tell my clients to watch my blog. The first thing that I am going to do when I get home is pick out my favorite 2-3 pictures and post them here. That will be immediate satisfaction for my client and I won't get behind either! Ha!

And how am I going to end this blog entry since it is not about a particular session? How else but with a picture of Becca! Becca, in case you are new to my blog, is my beautiful niece. Here she has her eyes closed because Aunt Kim (not her 1st favorite Aunt FOR SURE...but her 2nd or 3rd! Hehe) is spraying her with insect spray before the Bridesmaid's Cocktail Party for her momma. (And, I will post more wedding party pictures soon!) But for now, I love this picture!

I have started to add a little Commercial Photography to my portfolio recently. I really enjoy it! I am available to photograph food in various appealing angles, homes, businesses, etc.

The following group of photos is of the woodwork in my building. Randy does some awesome work! He hired me to photograph all the woodwork he did so that he can use it in a portfolio. I was amazed at the outcome of his work and I loved the pictures I captured. I hope these photos help to get him even more business!!

I have been a blog slacker!!! My excuse...I have been so busy! I have had tons of sessions and then Fair On The Square! Because of our wonderful Memphis weather, my sessions have gotten cancelled for today. So I am using my time to get caught up on a little of my blogging before I get back to working on Morgan & John's wedding photos! After this blog I will post a couple of my favorites from their "I do's!"

But for now...I need to list the winners from my drawing at Collierville's Fair on the Square last weekend! I chose 2 winners, since it was a 2-day event!

BUNNIES!!!!

BUNNIES are the only thing that I need to add for next year's Easter pictures!! This year as a little Easter gift Mimi and Papa gave Becca not 1...but 2 Bunnies!! They are so tiny and adorable! I think I was as excited as Becca was!

When I had thought about doing Easter Pictures I wanted to get some bunnies and chicks for the pictures. Unfortunately I did not get to do that this year as you know....but I will next year! This Easter, my little nieces and nephew that live in Atlanta were here! We love when they are here. We have Easter at my Aunt Kim's house and she has the most beautiful azaleas in the entire world! Her backyard is also gorgeous and has a lot of unique little nooks that I love...I have photographed here before because I love how it is so different. This year I took part in the MidSouth Baby Expo at the Agricenter! It was my first Expo and it was so much fun!! I had help from my wonderful assistants Becky, Katie & Melissa. We met so many wonderful expectant mothers and gave away lots of stuff! I added a FREE Session to the list of door prizes that the Agricenter gave away and had a separate drawing at my booth for a FREE Session too. Plus every person that stopped by my booth received a coupon for a FREE 11x14!! I'm going to post a few pictures of my booth and list the names of the mommies-to-be that won free sessions!!

First Annual Kick Off the Year Open House

Weekend before last I hosted my first Annual Kick Off the Year Open House and it was a success! I had a pretty good crowd for my first year and we had lots of fun! I had some return clients and some new ones show up! From an old dance teacher I had not seen in a year, to a visit from a 13 month old that I had never met! (I took pictures of his mommy's belly when she was pregnant with him!) It was great to catch up with everyone and I hope to even double my crowd next year!

Victoria's Modeling Shoot

A couple weeks ago I met Victoria and her mom at The Grotto. She was entering a pageant and needed to start a portfolio and get a head shot. This was one of the most fun sessions!! New Tutus for Props!

I am so excited about the new props that I got in the mail last night!! I have been wanting to get a tutu to use in little girl sessions so badly. These will be great for first birthdays, and even older girls doing some dress up pictures. I got two different ones - a pastel one and a bright one. They are even cuter in person than you see here! Both tutus will fit little girls ages 6 months to 3 years. I even got the hot pink and green one lengthened a little bit for the older age group. I can't wait to use them...I'm sure I will get Becca to be a model for me soon!

My New Home Office

Well, my office is revealed!! One thing that I have wanted so much was to fix up an office in my home where I could meet with clients for consultations. Until now I have been meeting clients at Starbucks mostly...and as much as I am going to miss my bi-weekly Caramel Frappacino's, it is going to be so much easier being able to open my home and have clients come by whenever they want!

I have it all decked out and I have a TV on the wall for you to view your proofs. No more looking at them on my itty bitty computer screen! I have a pair of chairs, pictures all over the walls, and even some candy for munching on why you watch the slide show!

I have had it fixed up since right before Christmas but I'm just getting around to getting it revealed. Only a handful of clients have seen it so far...so I thought that I would post a few pictures to show everyone:

Kelley's 80th Birthday Party

I have started making myself available to do parties/showers within my business. I have done a few so far and they have been so much fun! This is something that I would totally want when I throw parties! I throw parties all the time and I love it! But it is so hard running around, mingling, making sure all the food is prepared...when do you have time to take pictures!?? What I do as my business, is come to your party or event and pretty much capture all the important parts! I follow the "man, woman, or child of the hour" around (un-noticed I might add!) and photograph this visiting and laughing with family and friends. I take many candids but also some posed shots.

This party that I did last weekend was actually for my grandfather. He just turned 80 and my aunts and mom are throwing him a big party with all of his long-time friends and family. He was so excited! Needless to say, I had a great time b/c I knew and loved almost everyone there! My Pappaw means the world to me and he loves to have pictures from everything, so it meant a lot to me to be able to be the one to do this for him! Now I just have to send them all off to my development company for him! Here are a few from this party:

Musicians - Kenny & Patience

A few weeks ago I did a session for a couple Memphis Musicians. Kenny Clark is a jazz singer that I have met in the past 6 months. He travels to sing and does many jobs at casinos/cruises. He is very, very good and sings a lot of songs by Tony Bennett and Frank Sinatra. He has recently become the manager of a young girl named Patience. One of my favorite songs that she sang the day I was photographing her was "Fever"...you should have seen her get into that! Patience writes a lot of her own music and Kenny is entering her into a contest for the Oprah show! They needed to get some photos to send with her demo and I was glad to do it! I just hope that she makes it! This session was mostly for Patience, but I shot a few of Kenny while we were there. Here are a few pictures from our fun day downtown and at Sun Studios:

Okay, I think I am finishing up with work from 2008! I wanted to try and get 1 picture posted of all of my sessions. I feel so blessed that my business has taken off like it has! Hello again! Well I just got home from my parents house. They had the family over for "chicken, cheese & rice"...my all time favorite dinner that my Mammaw Jackie used to make for me when I was little. My dad makes it now, and it is delicious! Little Becca was there and we had a wonderful time as usual when she is around. She wanted to say the blessing twice and it is obvious she lights up our entire world! As you know, my sister and Brad and getting married in May and tonight they asked my husband, Robby to be an usher in their wedding! We finished up the night watching old home movies of Katie and I as children. Katie was about 4 which would have made me 9. It was fun showing Becca her momma and Aunt Cici as little girls! Now that I am at home and in bed, I thought that I would post a few more of my 2008 Favorites:

A Relaxing Weekend...

This was a very relaxing weekend...I loved it! I am such a busy person...always running! I never get quiet weekends like this, and I enjoyed every minute of it! I did nothing that had to do with photography this weekend , but I thought I would let you into a little of my personal life with this blog!

This is a very important time for me right now. My sister Katie is getting married in May and she is in the planning stages of the process right now. We went shopping this weekend for bridesmaid dresses and Becca a "wedding dress". See, she is getting married in May too! Becca is my 2 year old niece and it is very important to my sister that Becca be apart of every moment of this special day. After all, my soon-to-be brother-in-law Brad will not only be marrying my sister, but also my beautiful niece! Katie decided on a lot today and I will not be spoiling anything here. But, I will post a couple pictures of the weekend that only include dresses that were discarded...below you will find Becca in a couple of the "wedding dresses" and veils she tried on!

Hi, my name is Kristin Irby and I have been photographing for sweet families in the Memphis area for a little over a year. I don't have a studio, and even though I photograph at the homes of my clients; the majority of my sessions take place outside in parks around town. This is my first real "winter" since starting this business, so I am a little lost with all of the down-time I have! I work a full time job and I am used to working all week and then spending my weekends photographing, and every evening editing! Now that it is winter and I am not slammed with appts, I thought that I would finally start a blog! I am going to try to write about once every week or two, and tell you about my appts and what is going on with my business! I will also post a picture or two of the sessions after I have them as a little "sneak peak"! But for now....I will post a couple pictures from previous sessions that are some of my absolute favorites just to get everything started!
